All the Bartenders are very attentive & friendly. Kudos to Erin & Marissa! Happy Hour is packed & loud most days with blasting Karaoke & lots of buzzed college age kids & middle agers. Prices on the higher side for food but worth it. Carnitas Burrito is awesome. Atmosphere & people make this place great!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to on the east coast. Large place, great atmosphere. Large portions. Corzo modern margarita was awesome as well as the tortilla soup. The Mexican Club was also very tasty.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Atmosphere is fun and festive. Plenty of room for all the beach goers who flock to town in the Summer. Food skews more toward Americanized Mexican food / Tex-Mex, but is very very good. Prices are a little higher than more 'traditional' Mexican restaurants (comparable to an On the Border or Chili's), but the portions are generous. Great drinks and always a good time when we go to the beach!

Great for kids. The food is good and they have generous portions. The chip baskets never seemed empty unfortunately as every loved them. One of the better Mexican restaurants where we have eaten. They accept call ahead, but if you have a large party let them know and thye may give you a little more leeway than the usual 15 minuted call ahead time.

It's a good place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and never too long of a wait. We come here every time we go to Myrtle Beach. They serve typical Mexican food that has never disappointed, though it won't be winning any awards for originality. A solid place if you're craving some Mexican fare.

The food was amazing. We went early and we were able to walk right in. The pollo fondito was fabulous. They were pretty busy so the service wasn't the best. Would go back.

We love Mexican. Eat out at Mexican restaurants about once every 2 weeks. Waited 25 minutes for a table at 7:30 on Monday night. Food was ok but not great. Server bought my husband the wrong beer and salted my 'no salt' margarita. Then when food arrived we had no silverware or napkins for about 5 minutes. All in all it wasn't bad but there are better Mexican restaurants in Myrtle beach.

Meh. Good atmosphere, average food from the chips and salsa to the enchiladas. Disappointed after good reviews

This place was very busy on a Wednesday, so we figured it was a great local hang out. The atmosphere was very cool, but being on the opposite side of the place from the bar and karaoke it was still very loud. The food was good, but in my opinion not worth the "tourist" price. For example in NC at our favorite Mexican place we pay around $8 for a dish, here we paid around $13 and it was the same quality. The frozen drinks were good and "affordable" (compared to the other restaurants int he area). The fried ice cream was awesome and a great serving size. The chips and salsa was also really good.

Went here for dinner and was not disappointed! Service was great. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Chips and salsa were out before I could blink to munch on. BTW the salsa was really good. I ordered the "Flamethrower Mexican Pizza"! If you like things on the spicy side this is for you! My mouth was on fire. Great flavor!

I've always been pleased with the food at Burro Loco. There have been a few times that we had to wait awhile to be seated, but most times we've been seated quickly. I've just learned to expect a long wait at most Myrtle Beach restaurants during peak summer months. I usually get the Pollo Fundido or Chicken Chimichangas. I love the chips & salsa. They give you big portions of food, so I don't think the prices are too high. I've only had dessert there once, which was the Apple Chimichanga and it was good, too.

We have always loved going to the Burro Loco for the drink specials, happy hour specials, and fun atmosphere. But last night we had the worst service we've ever had at any restaurant. We've been going to the Burro Loco for years now, (3 times a year when we visit Myrtle Beach) and always with large groups (12 or more). On Tuesday, our waitress seemed stoned , took 45 minutes to bring out drinks, and when we questioned what was taking so long, she said she was "very busy" with no apology. When our food finally arrived, 3 dinners, (not 1 but 3 dinners) were missing. She didn't even know what we ordered. Once we spoke to a manager and these dinners came (a half hour after the rest of our party was finished eating), they were also wrong. The manager comp'ed our missing food, but he didn't apologize either. He said she's having personal problems and she probably shouldn't be working that day. Really??!!! Somehow her personal problems became our personal problems. It was a miserable night, especially because we had little kids with us, whose patience wore out well before ours did.

THIS IS A GREAT MEXICAN RESTUARANT. The food was great but the service was horrible. We had to ask several times to get anything we needed. I would go back again, but if placed in the same waitress section I would asked to be moved.

I have been coming here for years (before it was Burro Loco, this place was called Chilaca's or something like that). This place has been consistent the entire time. The chips and salsa are very good, but not the best. I tried the RAW margarita with Corzo instead of Cuervo (I am not a Cuervo fan), and it was okay, but not what I was hopping for. It was far too sweet, hiding the flavor of the tequila. Also, I assumed this would be served without salt if the waitress didn't ask for a specification, however, it was served with salt. Like I said, it was okay, but I would probably try something different next time. As for mains, my mom had the Fajitas (were good) and I had the sampler with two types of enchiladas and a taco. The chicken and beef taco were good, but the spinach enchilada was lacking in flavor. I realize I am comparing this to what I feel are two of the best Mexican places outside of San Diego/Mexico itself (see reviews on Sol Azteca and Don Jose Tequilas in the North East), and therefore, this should be taken in context. If you are wondering if you should go here, the answer is yes, we have for about 15 years or more (and will continue). If you are wondering if you should go here or Nacho Hippo, you should try both for their completely unique experiences. My opinion would be Burro Loco for dinner and Nacho Hippo for lunch, afternoon snack or late night.

Get the queso dip! Best in town! Also, try the Pollo Fundido & Tortilla Soup.

Overall excellent dinner. The chips were really good and the salsa was fresh. We also had a side of guacamole which was outstanding. For our main course we had chicken and beef enchiladas which were really good. We're going to be coming back again soon to see how the rest of the food is there.

Not bad not great. Pretty average Mexican at a slightly inflated price. Awesome queso though. Can't believe there are no Mexican beers on tap. Next time I'm in the area I'll opt for habenaros between litchfield and pawleys, its more authentic. We sat in the bar area and, as a drunk girl - this being at 6PM - celebrated her birthday by being pulled around on the donkey, we took the opportunity to teach our children about how alcohol can make you look like an idiot.

This is the largest Mexican Restaurant I've ever seen. The atmosphere is tasteful, and the food superb. Upon entering, the hostess asked us if we would like to sit by the fireplace, which was lit with several logs. I don't know why anyone would want to be near a fire indoors at the beach, in June. So, we declined. We browsed the menu as we snacked on unlimited chips and salsa. Everything looked so great. It's a bit more expensive than the average Mexican places. Most meals were between $10-$15. I had an appetizer; a massive chicken quesadilla for $8; half of which was taken home in a box. For birthdays, the waiter will bring a rolling donkey to the table and sing loudly while the patron sits atop. It is hilarious. El Burro Loco is owned by CentraArchy, which operates 18 large and unique restaurants throughout the southeast. I was really impressed with the size of the place, which could easily sit 300 people. Service was friendly and I would definitely go back!

This is a great find for us. The food isn't what we think of "Mexican." it seems fresh, different and better than our home Mexican places. Atmosphere is fun and inviting. Will be going back every time we vacation in Myrtle.

My wife and I visited this restaurant while on a business trip. We found the food to be very good and the service attentive. My wife had pork burritos which were excellent, and I had a seafood enchilada which was very good as well. We finished off with some of the best fried ice cream that I've ever had. The only reason that I'm not giving 5 stars is that it took a bit long to get the food after we ordered, but we had plenty of chips & salsa, so it wasn't a real big deal.

I would have to disagree that this is "authentic mexican dining" However they have a kickass Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Everyone parties in the parking lot - its a great time.

Went here w/hubby, sister, & brother from another mother. Great time, great food. Casual ambiance, not too noisy, fun decorations. Even had a photo-op near the entrance (can put faces through holes for different character faces...up to 4 people). We were seated quickly & had a fantastic waiter (David, who told us to call him Guillermo because we couldn't remember his name...lol!). We each had a cocktail, ranging from Margaritas to Angry Balls (Angry Orchard mixed w/Fireball Whiskey)...tasty! Had an appetizer (sampler)...delicious! Then our main course ranged from burritos, to enchiladas, to fish tacos...all fantastic. I recommend the Ranchero beans for your side....nom nom! We were too stuffed for dessert as the serving sizes were huge! But, we were tempted...lots of tasty choices, including fried ice cream. Too bad we live in Rhode Island...we would definitely love to make this place a regular!

First things first... Right when you walk in the door you instantly smell cigarette smoke from the lounge. Ordered some drinks (1 Red Bull and 1 horchata). Server took the drink order and left. After about 15min our server came back to ask us what horchata is. 20min after being seated I got the Red Bull. Guacamole came out next and my friend took one taste and turned to me and said "this isn't fresh".. There was no flavor .. I agreed. No lime, salt, pepper... Just straight avocados with some tomatoes on top. Store bought chips to go with it. I enjoyed the fiesta burrito. It had a nice tangy sauce and a little char on the outside. My friend said his chicken burrito "had no flavor to it at all... Very bland". Disappointing.

A complete clown show. Called ahead to get seating for 12, was told no wait but plan on 20 min just in case. (No problem) so ruled out other places based upon this availability. Finally, seated us an hour after arriving.. Actually, (after the hour) they first tried to seat us at a table that might fit a family of 8 with small kids. Had to demand a larger table. At first they said this is the largest table they have and we'd have to split up. Until we pointed them to a table that had sat un-bussed since the moment we arrived... Food service was slow and we had to beg for refills. The food quality was good, but the portion sizes smaller than I remember. I'm a big fan of the California Dreaming family of small chains. Not sure what is going on here, but hopefully they get it corrected.

We love the decorations and the friendliness of the wait staff. Margaritas were just right and the food was great! We ordered the crazy donkey feast and the ribs are extremely tender. The meat literally fell off the bones! Definitely a good place to get your tex mex fix!

I got the carnitas burrito and it was stuffed with nothing but meat. My wife got 3 different enchiladas and they were great. Service was decent too.

Delicious!!! Very few restaurants get better with time. But that is just what they do! Another great meal. High quality steak and chicken in the fajita dish. Taco meats seasoned perfectly.

  • Dawn C.

Loud! Loud and cheesy. The waitstaff was attentive and fun.. but... sooooloud it is where college kids go to feel *grown* because they are finally old enough to sit and drink at a bar. That being said. The food was good. I am assuming it is a chain. So it gets the job done. I got a cheese enchilada - it tasted like a cheese enchilada. I cannot remember what the guy got, but I remember he was not that happy. His meat was overcooked. it was *eh* I would most likely not go back.

My father and I hit up the burro loco on our first night here at Myrtle Beach. This has been a regular spot for us to hit when we go on vacation here. The past visits have always made us sad there wasn't a local one by us. Tonights visit was right before the dinner rush. We were seated immediately and given complimentary chips and dip. The dip was good, with just a bit of spice. We started out with the top shelf margarita pitcher and god lord, they bring the alcohol. It was great tasting and one pitcher may be abit much for just two people if they are light weight drinkers. I always get the grilled steak nachos, and it usually amazes me, sadly though, not tonight. It comes on a massive plate stacked up approximately 6 inches high. The nachos come topped sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, beans, grilled steak, jalapeños, tomatoes, and cheese. My major gripe are the beans and cheese. The beans was bland and had little flavor. The cheese, what little I got, was solidified and not the standard I expect from here. The total of our meal with margaritas and tip was $62. Any other time I visited, I'd be content with that. I really should give this visit a normal 3 stars, but I still recall fondly of my past joys at the burro. I chose instead a 4 because I'm hoping this is just an off night. I will still give the burro another shot in the future because i know this is not their normal performance.

The food was DELICIOUS.... There is no doubt I will be back.... The chimichanga was the perfect mix between crunchy and soft. Best decision we made coming here! And be sure to ask for Duncan!! He is very funny and friendly and knows everything there is to know about the restaurant and food! Portions were very large (dangerous considering how delicious it is). I would eat here every night of the week if it was acceptable!

Slow service for bland, uninspired food. We had a bad lunch and the table next to us asked to speak to the manager it was so bad.

  • Kris D.

They had great servers and fast service. Great taco salad but ranch dressing takes away from the salad. The Pollo Fundido was pretty decent and was a fairly large portion. Their queso was great and the guacamole was on point. The pizza is not good, but that's what happens when a Tex mex place tries pizza. The cheese pizza didn't have enough cheese and the sauce was a little on the bitter side.

Its Kind a Confusing Taste food .. they have limited variety and cant made the food way we want ... personally I dont like The food but I like the efforts of Workers to help our food the way we want ..!! its hard to find vegetarian Dishes here on Myrtle beach ..!!

REALLY BAD SERVICE, the food was below average, I last visited this restaurant July 2014 and gave it a 4 and a half star rating, I don't know what happened in a years time but I'll look elsewhere for a Mexican restaurant

I love this place. I get the shrimp fajitas. They food comes out perfect every time. They give a huge portion and they don't skimp on the amount of shrimp. For drinks you can't beat the frozen marguerites. They aren't watered down either. They pack a punch. When going to Myrtle beach the locals know this is the place for Mexican. They have a great happy hour and the quesadilla is dirt cheap and the size of a frisbee. Don't know how they make a profit giving so much away. Stay away from the tourist traps like Margueritaville and all the other restaurants at Broadway by the beach. Some other great spots only a few minutes away. Enjoy!

Horrible service. Waiters and waitresses were all occupied with cleaning. Food is standard, processed, reheated American junk.

Two years since my last review and the food is still as good as it gets. Margaritas perfectly amazing. There is nothing I would change about Burro.

  • Chad D.

This place was a very pleasant surprise! The steak fajitas were great, and the service met expectations. The food portions were very large, and over all a good value. While others complained of the volume (it was loud), what would you expect at a bar and restaurant? Chips and salsa were very good. If you're up for good Tex-Mex, give this a shot.

We came with a large reserved party and was seated at the side of bar dining area. It was total chaos. Half of our party was served and started to leave before the other end of the table even received their food. My husbands food never came until, I believe management retook his order (I was finished eating) Another gentleman in our party ordered a salad three times to three different waitresses over the time span of 2 hours. He was then asked if he was ready for his bill and he said he didn't receive his food yet (2.5 hours later) She responded she wouldn't know anything about that. She was the first waitress that took his order. Like a said it was complete chaos. I think they are going for a "Hooters" girl vibe here that isn't working. The food was good, the chips and salsa were delish but the service was so poor I can't give above 2 stars no matter how good the salsa was. We were here a month ago with another couple and received the same poor service of a clueless bar waitress with only a four top. I have given up on this restaurant. May I suggest hiring more competent bar waitstaff over the fluff. Or train them properly.

Fun place. Cool decor, food is traditional mexican, and service is good. Don't miss their happy hour. Great deals, and Duos usually playing music in bar area. If you like parties, don't miss the Cinco de Mayo party. They put stages in parking lot, have outside bars and rows and rows of porta-potties. Must be a thousand people there.

This place was rock. The home made chips and salsa was delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and kind like a party scene. We sat at the bar area. All the waitress in the bar areas wore a skimpy outfit They were all cute and had a nice figure hehe. Ok ok who doesn't like to look at pretty women even I am a women i like to looks at a pretty thjngs too They also provided the live music fr hip hop to pop. The guy who sang that day he was good. He entertained the crowded while singing in the same time Def would go back again if I have a chance

It took about 10 minutes for our waitress to come and take our drink orders and thrn another 20 minutes for our drinks to even come to our table. The chips were insanely stale. The waitress eventually came back to take our order after another 10 minutes. It took several minutes to even get a refill and when we got a refill the cup was cracked top to bottom and it was leaking all over our table. I don't understand how the waitress didn't see that. Our order was wrong and it took another 30 minutes to just get our waitress back to our table. I wouldn't reccomend coming here. The staff is incompetant.

This was a great looking space. I agree with others though...it is loud. We went on a Monday night and the server seemed to be new and unfamiliar with what the restaurant had to offer. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and then sent them back....they had an overwhelming taste of coconut which is a strange taste to mix with salt. We tried to order another flavor but the waiter said that all were made with the same Sweet and sour mix....sad. I ordered fish tacos....they were fine. My friend ordered chicken fajitas and she said they were ok. Her flour tortillas came out cold...straight out of the package not even microwaved for 10 seconds. Guacamole had huge chunks of tomatoes in it that seemed more appropriate in a salad....a squeeze of lime would have helped these out tremendously. We wouldn't go back to this place.

  • Mike W.

My review is just for the bar side of the restaurant. I think I've been on the other side once when family came to visit. If you sit at the bar instead of one of the little tables, you get much better service. The bartenders there know how to handle a rush. I always get the Mexican pizza with chicken, black beans, & pico. Always good. Oh, & there's beer in cold glasses!

I'm giving 5 starts because management saved the day. Without the lovely pregnant manager (I wish I remembered her name) this place would not come close to a 5 star rating.. All I can say is that the service needs to be worked on and should be set up differently. If a better system is followed I believe they will get much better reviews. Management- 5 starts dealing with customer satisfaction Bar- 1 star, hey at least i got a drink right?... But drinks are not made well and take much too long to get Waitresses 1 star, laid back and slow. They need to work on being more attentive, and professional. Sweet girl, but needs training. Woman who brought out the food- 5 stars. She was very nice, understanding and willing to help out in any way to please the customer. Food- ehh. It's food. THE CHURRO DESSERT WAS AMAZING OMG GET IN MY BELLY!!!

We went on Cinco de Mayo before all the festivities for our friends 21st! They did their best to make his birthday awesome and even did the whole birthday song and everything!! Food was delicious and our service was awesome!!! The 10 dollar parking on Cinco de Mayo kind of sucked but thats to be expected!

  • Curtis M.

Food bland and non-authentic tasting. It's too bad especially since the place itself and staff were all very nice. The size of the building is huge and has real interesting atmosphere. It might be a good place to go for a drink in the bar! However, for food you could spend a lot less and get way better tasting food. Our party tried the chicken enchilada dinner and the veggie burrito. All of us just rated it "okay". For the price you want better. On the plus side salsa and guacamole was pretty good and chips were fresh.

Fiesta Del Burro Loco is without a doubt the best Mexican restaurant in the south! We drive from Charlotte just to eat there. Best fajitas and the best chips and salsa. It is a a family tradition and we don't have a vacation at the beach without at least one trip to Burro Loco! Awesome!!

We were out shopping in the area and heard about this place and decided to give it a try for lunch. Pleasantly surprised! Nice atmosphere. We were seated in no time. It is a great value with large portions. Our food was delicious, hot and served in a timely fashion. We even had the honor of the Manager coming to our table. She approached with a big smile and asked how everything was and if we needed anything. I don't remember her name, but she was a beautiful young woman with a big smile, her hair in a bun. We were there on March 3, 2015. To her I want to say Thank You! Thank you for a very pleasant first experience in this restaurant. We will definitely be back and be telling others about this place.

My last Myrtle Beach review...I think...and it was one of the best dinners we had down there. We went to Fiesta del Burro Loco the first night we were down in Myrtle-us parents figured it was a good night to do some drinking since we didn't have to be up early the next morning. We had a large group (about 16 people if I remember correctly) so we made a reservation. This was really the only negative-it was like Seinfeld...they 'took the reservation" but they weren't even close to ready for us so they didn't really "hold the reservation." Kidding aside-we only waited for about 20 minutes so it wasn't too bad. Once seated, our waitress was quick to get our drink order in-3 pitchers of margaritas and sodas all around for the kids. I'm not going to go through what everyone at the table ordered-mostly because I don't remember, but my daughter ordered the chicken burrito and I ordered the steak and chicken combo fajitas. The chips and salsa they gave us were great-chips were a little salty, but the salsa was excellent. I'm not convinced the salsa was made fresh, but it TASTED like it was-and it could have been a little spicier for my taste, but they are offering it to the masses so medium is the best I could hope for. We also ordered queso and fresh guacamole for the chips-queso was ok (it's hard to screw up melted cheese and salsa) but the guac was really, really good-and I don't usually like it-it's a texture thing... My daughter, a notoriously picky eater, devoured her chicken burrito...now maybe it was because she was 'starving' from being in the hot sun at the beach all day, but I want to believe it was because it was so damn good she coupldn't put it down. She ate more chips than a fat guy at a college party so she MUST have been hungry. My fajitas were the best I've had in a very long time. Both the steak and chicken were done perfectly so it wasn't rubbery/chewy and didn't get pulled out of the shell with each bite. The veggies were tastier than most places and, like the meat, were done to perfection. Like the salsa I would have liked a little fire in the mix, but the taste was on point. Overall, if I had a friend going to Myrtle I would definitely recommend Fiesta del Burro Loco. The food was delicious, the place was family and large group friendly, the service was excellent, the margaritas were strong, and we walked away completely full. Prices were a little high and they added a 20% gratuity, but I would have given our server that anyway-she was helpful and attentive-service with a huge smile.

The chips and salsa are really good. It's a great place for a drink. The food was okay. I had 2 chicken tacos and 1 chicken enchilada. The portions and prices are average. We had really good service and the atmosphere is nice.

Every time we are in Myrtle Beach, we eat here. They have the best Fondido chimichangas. They also have the best Top Shelf Margaritas. Love this place. We'll be back. Service is always good.

Great food! Tasted a little bit of everything off everyone's plates, and there wasn't anything that wasn't yummy! Was disappointed in portion size of the fajitas...ordered a combo of steak and chicken and seriously only like 5 slices of each mixed with some vegies. Best salsa from any Mexican restaurant I've been too. Will be back next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Very busy so service was so so. Food was good. Just had to wait awhile for stuff, like drinks, sides, etc. Prude alert: I kinda wanted the waitresses to cover up with their skimpy outfits. Felt like the food runner (another waitress) was annoyed having to bring out our food.

Burro Loco has good food, great drinks, and excellent service. I have eaten at Burro Loco multiple times and have always enjoyed the meal. The portions are HUGE. The guacamole is really yummy! Our server was good. Our drinks never ran out. She did forget to bring out the guac we ordered as an appetizer but remembered when she brought our entrees. Without us even asking, she apologized for the mistake and said that she'd have the manager remove it from our bill and still brought it to us. That was a very nice gesture. I appreciate a server that can realize their own mistake, correct it, and apologize without us having to say a word. The Italian margarita gave me a nice buzz. The sopapillas were to die for! My only complaint is that the booth we sat in near the kitchen had ripped upholstery on the bench part and it was jagged and uncomfortable! It kept poking us!

This is a smoking restaurant do not take your children there they have to walk through the bar area where people are smoking to go to the restroom this is a very smoky restaurant .

Frozen strawberry margaritas were fantastic. Chips, salsa, and guacamole were very good too, as to be expected at such a restaurant... Our wait time was quoted at 30-40 mins for the two of us but we were seated within 15, our server looked extremely busy so he did not make suggestions on the menu and was not very attentive. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas which were delicious and my girlfriend ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, which she also enjoyed. I recommend this place if you are looking for great drinks and good mexican food!

We literally just got home from eating there. We were a group of three for Happy Hour and took one of the booths in the back. After about 10 minutes our server finally came over to bring us our chips and salsa. She never even told us her name (I found out it was Letitia after looking at our bill) Our drinks came out pretty fast which was pretty much the only good thing about the whole experience here. We ordered three Quessdillas and an order of wings. After another 10-15 minutes we got our quesadillas, no wings yet. It took us about 20 minutes to eat our quesadillas, still no wings. Between Letitia greeting us and saying goodbye to us, we only saw her TWICE. She never checked on our drinks or chips...She also told us she was sorry about the wings because no one brought them out. We asked her TWICE. She could have easy brought them out. She probably forgot to ring them in. We finally had one of the other waitresses bring us a To Go box for our wings because we already finished everything. Letitia was probably the worst server I've ever dealt with. Maybe she shouldnt have spent most of her time dancing and talking to coworkers and actually took care of US, HER TABLE. I love burro locos food and will continue to dine there as long as Letitia isn't taking care of us.

Worse restaurant ever!!! I had the steak fajita salad , it sounded good but the "steak" was super salty and dry it tasted like beef jerky, the dressing tasted gross and the tortilla shell was way too oily as if they fried that thing every other second. The chips were very oily also, my daughter's French fries were cold and soggy. Very very disappointed!!! The price is way too expensive for the quality of the food you get. I was looking for a nice family restaurant with great food but this wasn't it. If you like a lot of oil and sodium on your food this is the place to go.

Went for happy hour. $2 for 10 of the best wings I've had. Great prices. $1.95 drafts and other specials 4-7p every day. Restaurant could use a good cleaning. Waitresses attire was different from last time I came. Felt like an undercover Hooters.

Ate here Saturday 09/08/12 at around 7:30pm. It was crowded and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was not too attentive, but I don't like to fault the entire restaurant for one waiter. I waited for drink refills three times (EMPTY GLASS) and he was slow in checking on us in general. My wife got the chimichunga and was well pleased. Pricey though . $12+ I got the chili relleno and was disappointed. The batter was too thick and "bready"...and had no cheese whatsoever inside...only pulverized chicken. It was grossly overpriced at $10+ Also, the beverages (tea, soft drinks) are rather pricey at $2.25 Overall we spent well over $30, and we can spend a lot less and enjoy a lot more at other Tex-Mex joints. The donkey fell short for us this time.

Not overwhelmed. Great service, went the extra mile. Food was average. Very commercial feel and menu. Price was good for what we got. Probably explore different options in the area next time

For the first time ever I disagree with yelpers. This place was terrible, let me rephrase that the atmosphere and service was great but the food was terrible. I can eat like crazy and have never know to leave any food on my plate, but I could not eat half if this trash. I had the carnitas burrito and was terrible so much so that eating half of it was like pulling teeth. My wife had the steak fajita salad and that too tasted terrible, how can you even mess up a salad. Even our kids could eat the food and after tasting theirs we realized why. I am glad that we are here just on vacation and that we will never have to come back to this place. So the bottom line is if you enjoy salt with a little bit of Mexican food on at a ridiculously high price then look no further

Have a groups seven and server is very slow. Reservations were off by 15, food came out wrong. Margaritas are not made to order, mostly by machine so getting them right is a problem. Food was good but not worth the wait. Came here every year for three years about 10+ years ago, but it's not the same. Too bad because we raved about it prior to coming back.

Fun atmosphere! Food is good and we didn't even have to wait. Service is excellent. This place rocks!

  • David C.

Food was average at best. Serving sizes weren't appropriate for the price. We had a large group and the wait staff didn't seem on top of their game. We made reservations and when we arrived they had already "called" out name which didn't sit too well considering we were early.

  • Lisa A.

Way below average Mexican restaurant. Guacamole was below average. Chips and salsa average. Fajitas were okay, but not great. Service was good, but slow. NOT a place for children. The waitresses in the bar area are dressed like they work at a strip club. (And they constantly walk through restaurant) my son kept mentioning the girls that were "half naked" totally inappropriate for a family restaurant. Would not recommend.

Our party of six was seated promptly this ebening. Chip's and sals A were brought to our table right away. Our server was attentive and refilled our drinks a couple of times. Our food included burritos, nachos, tacos and Mexican pizza was delicious. We did not have to wait on or ask for our check. This is our 2nd visit this week!

The restaurant was moderately crowded and yet it took over an hour to get food. The quality of the food was sub par. Go to Taco Bell, the chicken and beef are similar in quality. Yet, Taco Bell is cheaper. My wife ordered a chicken quesadilla and for some reason it had a strong weird aftertaste, reminiscent of soap.

This place definitely serves up some tasty Mexican food! My husband's chile relleno was so delicious it surprised us! Not because this place doesn't look like it would have good food, but because it's hard to find good Mexican in the Carolinas! We had some fresh made guacamole to go with our complimentary chips and it was tasty delicious too! My burrito was good, but a little heavy with the barbecue sauce they smothered it in. I think if we make it out here again I would order whatever sauce the burrito comes with on the side and eat the amount I want (there are different kinds of sauces they smother different kinds of burritos with). We were eating lunch on the way out from a night on the town, so we didn't partake in any libations, but it looked like they had a good selection! Would definitely recommend this place!!

  • Mimi N.

Of all the places I ate at during my myrtle beach trip, this was definitely the best. They start you off with way more tortilla chips than you can hope to finish, with some good salsa. Don't eat too many, though, because the portions are HUGE and food is really delicious. I had the chicken and vegetable fajitas, and the chicken & veggies came out on a sizzling metal plate. The rice it came with was yummy and I ended up not using the endless flour tortillas. My friends ordered fried ice cream for dessert (4 of the 5 desserts are fried...) and they gave a huge portion. Kinda tasted like cinnamon toast crunch, nice to try once but I wouldn't have it again. All in all, as long as you like Mexican food (which I used to not) you'll definitely love this place!

    (5)
  • Steve S.

My wife and i go here every time we are in myrtle beach. We always get the taco salads they are the best we found anywhere. Just really good flavor. Service is good they run the business to the masses so they get you in and out! The margaritas are nothing to call home about. They are too sweet for me .

  • Angie D.

Shrimp tacos here are superb and the staff and decor of the restaurant all add up to five stars.

    (5)
  • Mandy N.

Chips and salsa were pretty good! I got a chicken taco, which was excellent, and a chicken tacquito that wasn't anything to write home about. Wasn't a fan of the rice and my husband didn't enjoy his enchiladas -- he said they were covered in gravy that literally tasted like something that came from our Thanksgiving table. Odd combination for Mexican food. We ordered the stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer, but they were sold out. Our server ended up surprising us with a free dessert to make up for the jalapeños. I would consider going back because of the good service! Half off appetizers during happy hour!

The most awesome place to go for Mexican in SC! Atmosphere - Awesome! I notice something different each time I go; from the snake carving on our booth to the lizard door handles! Service, great! Food - YUMM!!! Only bad thing I can say is the guacamole tasted like mashed avocado - no seasonings. Everything else was off the charts! Love this place! Can't wait to go back!

  • Morgan T.

Went here as soon as they opened for the day. The chips and salsa were good. My kids loved the atmosphere. I used to go to a restaurant in Jersey called Chi Chi's all the time that unfortunately winded up closing down and Burro Loco was very reminiscent of that. I enjoyed my carnitas and loved the polenta. They had American choices like hamburgers on the kid's menu for my picky four year old.

  • Tommy G.

This place is amazing!!! I don't have anything negative to say about it, other than that the bar area could use an expansion due to the overwhelming popularity of this great happy hour spot! Here's the deal: Bottomless chips (free) Bottomless wings (free) -Happy hour bar area on FRIDAYS only $3 dollar margaritas If you like college girls, you'll appreciate the service. There is so much entertainment; Karaoke, a birthday Donkey ride, sometimes the bud lite lime girls pay a visit and give you freebies! Don't miss out on Burro Loco's biggest day, BURRO FEST, every year: Cinco De Mayo! Get there before 3pm and you'll have a good booth before happy hour starts (4-7pm). Likewise, they have an dining area that is larger than the bar area, quieter and nicer. This is the best Mexican Food in Myrtle Beach in my opinion.

  • Tara B.

I have to admit that the prices had me not hopeful. I had a $10 quesadilla, but I would have paid double for it! I fully enjoyed the whole experience! But word to the wise: when they say hot, they mean HOT!

Food - I had the plato mexicano plate. It basically was a plate of melted cheese with some chicken and peppers mixed in. Tasted pretty good...but as far as mexican food, I've had better at some other smaller joints. Chips and salsa were good as was the chili con queso. Service -- We were seated in less than 10 mins. Our server was engaging and as prompt as she could be with our food and drinks. I could see a manager on the floor making the rounds and keeping an eye on things...which is always a plus. Pro - decent food, decent price, large portions. Cons - mexican food smell on your clothes, families of rowdy kids, less than the best food.

We used other yelp reviews to select this place and we were not disappointed. The food wasn't exactly traditional mexican food, but it was very good. We thought the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was fun. I had a margarita that was smooth and strong. One of the friends that we were with ordered her food customized, and it came out exactly the was she ordered the first time which is a plus in my opinion. I would recommend, and would go there again without hesitation.

We went on a weekend night and did a call-ahead, so when we got there we were ready to be sat. However, we sat for a long time. It took over two hours for a party of eight of us to sit, order our food, eat, and pay the bill, which is a bit ridiculous. I don't know if we just had a slow waiter or if it was because the place was hopping, but it was definitely busier than I expected it would be. The food was ok...it wasn't horrible, but wasn't amazing. I had the carnitas and they were decent, but I've had much better. They did have a nice beer selection though, and that's always a plus. I haven't been to any other Mexican restaurants in Myrtle Beach yet, so I can't compare, but I'll definitely be trying somewhere else next time.

  • A S.

Food was decent for chain mexican restaurant, but not distinctive from any other mexican restaurant in Myrtle. Salsa was fresh, but lacked any "heat" or solid flavor, poblano pepper was undercooked in chile relleno. Price for two entrees and queso was reasonable. Being from Texas, finding good mexican food in this area continues to be problematic. Will keep looking for a good "hole in the wall" to get decent food.

  • Rhapsody A.

Pretty darn nasty! 30 minutes later, my husband and I were still burping up the taste. For the first time in my life, I had to buy Tums because I had heartburn so bad. Eat here only if you have no other options.

  • Tony F.

2 is appropriate for this place. We went here after reading the reviews on yelp...very underwhelimg. The chips and salsa were good, there are lots of margaritas to choose from, but that's really the only thing this place has going for it. The bar area looked decent enough, but only 4 brews on tap...I guess it would be good for after work drinks and chips and salsa, but go elsewhere for food. The burrito left something to be desired (just lacked flavor), the pizza, which I was excited about b/c they have an honest to god wood fire oven, was marginal (under cooked, very little sauce, waaaay overdone with the cornmeal), the rice was dry and tasted freezer burnt. I found this place to be very touristy and while the food was o.k....it wasn't worth coming back for.

Mediocre Mexican food. Would rather go to a local place than this chain any day.

  • Kim T.

This place has great burritos and fajitas. The environment is festive and the service is great. They have fairly standard Americanized Mexican food options with large portions and fresh ingredients. There's an endless supply of chips and salsa. It's a big pricey as far as Mexican restaurants go however it's expected in vacation destinations.

Fantastic place. Decor--very cool and different....hey, what else would expect from "Party of the Crazy Donkey"! Service--attentive, helpful...great. Food--really good....salsa was good, perfect heat. Everybody's meal was excellent. Wait might be a little long--they underpromised (25 min) and overdelivered (sat in 20 min). Just go.

If you like Chevy's then you will like Fiesta Del Burro Loco. Reasonable pirced food with nice sized portions. If it's your birthday you get to ride the woodend donkey and they will make an ass out of you. If you want mexican food while your in Myrtle Beach go to Fiesta Del Burro Loco.

  • Andrea J.

  • Jason H.

    (4)
  • Dmitri T.

  • Kurtiss H.

Overall excellent dinner. The chips were really good and the salsa was fresh. We also had a side of guacamole which was outstanding. For our main course we had chicken and beef enchiladas which were really good. We're going to be coming back again soon to see how the rest of the food is there.

  • JENNY G.

I would have to disagree that this is "authentic mexican dining" However they have a kickass Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Everyone parties in the parking lot - its a great time.

Great happy hour. Best on the beach. Great prices, good margarita's and snack food and the servers are outstanding. We always go there for Happy Hour when at the beach. Fun place and good.

Food was average at best. Serving sizes weren't appropriate for the price. We had a large group and the wait staff didn't seem on top of their game. We made reservations and when we arrived they had already "called" out name which didn't sit too well considering we were early.

    (3)

  • Shane E.

    (2)

Pretty darn nasty! 30 minutes later, my husband and I were still burping up the taste. For the first time in my life, I had to buy Tums because I had heartburn so bad. Eat here only if you have no other options.

If you just want cheap americanized mexican food, this is your spot. If you want something other than Taco Bell with a waiter, go someplace else.

Mediocre Mexican food. Would rather go to a local place than this chain any day.

Just go.

Excellent food, great atmosphere! About the best Mexican you can get outside of authentic. Pitchers of margaritas are a nice touch.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
